Overall it was promising to be a good night and we were all thoroughly enjoying ourselves, but I do have a few issues that I’d like to air, so “Hey Mr DJ, take note”!!!
When you play a tune and the sing-along-crew (me and my friends) are in full effect, why don’t you follow one good track with an equally good track? Surely you must know which tunes are crowd pleasers and people’s favourites!!! You played the “You Remind Me” remix by Mary J Blige which had us all singing and shaking our collective booty’s, but you followed it with a dry track of a different tempo which completely upset our flow!!!!! Why did you do this?
I really think that you DJ’s should try and be more consistent where the music is concerned. This might also help you to keep the dance-floor filled and the vibes correct all night instead of it constantly being up one minute and down the next!!! This phenomenon isn’t unique to Soul Out or the Mint Lounge, it’s a constant gripe that most of us raver’s have had with most DJ’s for years. It’s just a god-send that through the Soul Control website, we now have a public voice to be heard……FINALLY!!!!!
The £6 admission fee to the Mint Lounge was reasonable and the drinks were reasonably priced too! My only issue that I have with the Mint Lounge as a venue is the unisex toilets, they completely freaked me out!!!! We left the Mint Lounge at 1.30am because we had a birthday party to attend at Manchester 235 Casino. It was a good contrast to the Mint Lounge because they played a little Hip Hop, Bashment and a touch of Garage.
Soul Control Verdict: Keep up the good work fellas, overall it was a good and enjoyable night. Hopefully you will take my constructive comments which are shared by all my friends, into consideration for your next event!!
